Las mejores APPs predicciones de viento según SUELTALABARRA

The best wind forecast APPs according to SUELTALABARRA

Here are my top 4 wind and wave forecast apps for water activities:

1. Windguru : As mentioned above, Windguru is a weather and wave forecast app for water activities such as surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, and fishing. The app uses data from numerical weather and wave prediction models and combines it with historical information to provide accurate and detailed forecasts for the coming days. Windguru is available as a web version and as a mobile app for iOS and Android.
Windguru stands out for the accuracy of its forecasts, as well as its extensive database of locations around the world. Users also appreciate the ability to customize and save their favorite locations and receive notifications about forecast updates.
Price: Windguru offers a free version and a Premium subscription. Premium subscriptions cost either annually or monthly, with different pricing options depending on the region.
Free Limitations: The free version of Windguru provides basic access to weather forecasts, but with some limitations in terms of features and detailed data.
User Sharing: Windguru allows you to share a specific forecast link via social media or email, but does not offer the option to share a user account.
Tip/trick: If the spot you're looking at has a real-time anemometer, click on the knots it's marking and a window will pop up with the hourly history where you can see how it has behaved and the numbers below mark the difference between gusts—good for knowing which kites to take.
Another thing that makes me recommend Windguru is seeing the yellow stars 🟡, they tell us if it's good or very strong, but also if they turn blue 🔵 it's a sign that it's cold and you need a thick wetsuit 🤣. Access to public webcams at some spots.
2. Wisuki : Wisuki is another weather and wave forecast app specifically designed for water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and sailing. The app uses data from numerical weather and wave prediction models and combines it with information from real-time weather stations and webcams to provide accurate and detailed forecasts for the coming days. Wisuki is available as a web version and as a mobile app for iOS and Android.
Wisuki stands out for its intuitive and easy-to-use interface, as well as the ability to view wind and wave conditions in real time on webcams located in locations with forecasts.
Price: Wisuki offers a free version and a Premium subscription. The Premium subscription costs an annual or monthly fee, depending on the region.
Free Limitations: The free version of Wisuki provides basic weather forecasts and limited access to certain features and data.
User Sharing: Wisuki does not allow sharing a user account. Each user must have their own account to access the app's features.
Tips/Tricks: Wisuki has something unique about its community for each spot and its general view. It's also possible to access everything in the free version. It's true that the 1-hour view is limited, but the 24-hour option has been giving me hope for two weeks. Plus, it has a very intuitive swell graph.
3. Windy.app : Windy is a weather and wave forecast app for water and air activities, including sailing, paragliding, hang gliding, skydiving, and more. The app uses data from numerical weather and wave prediction models, as well as information from real-time weather stations and webcams, to provide accurate and detailed forecasts for the coming days. Windy is available as a web version and as a mobile app for iOS and Android.
Windy stands out for its ability to provide accurate and detailed forecasts for both air and water activities. Users also appreciate the ability to customize data displays and share forecasts with others.
Price: Windy offers a free version and a premium subscription called "Windy Premium." The premium subscription costs an annual fee. The best option is a lifetime subscription, which doesn't require renewal.
Free Limitations: The free version of Windy offers a wide range of features and data, including detailed weather forecasts. However, a Premium subscription unlocks some additional features.
User Sharing: Windy allows you to share specific forecasts and maps via generated links, making it easy to share information with other users.
Tips/tricks: If there's one thing that makes this app a must-have on my phone, it's the interactive map with the arrow indicating the wind direction. Moving the hours horizontally throughout the day and knowing if the wind changes during your water sports session is an extra level of safety. Planning is key, and this app ensures you don't get confused by the different spots you visit that you don't know.
Another feature that adds value is that if you select in the user settings that you kitesurf and your weight, the kites will be displayed in the recommended size for use with TWINTIP, of course.
4. Winds-up : Winds-up is a weather and wave forecast app for water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and sailing. The app uses data from numerical weather and wave prediction models, as well as information from real-time weather stations and webcams, to provide accurate and detailed forecasts for the coming days. Winds-up is available as a web version and as a mobile app for iOS and Android.
Winds-up stands out for its community focus, with the ability to share photos, videos, and comments about conditions at forecasted locations. Users also appreciate the accuracy of the forecasts and the ability to customize and save their favorite locations.
Price: Winds-up offers a free version and a premium subscription called “Winds-up PRO.” The PRO subscription costs an annual fee.
Free Limitations: The free version of Winds-up provides basic access to weather forecasts and certain functionalities, but with some limitations in terms of data and additional features.
User Sharing: Winds-up allows you to share specific forecasts and maps via generated links, making it easier to share information with other users. However, to access the PRO subscription, each user must have their own account.
Tips/tricks: without a doubt this prediction app for me is the real-time wind app, since they have anemometers in many spots and that is why having their paid version makes perfect sense if you have a WindsUp in your spot, knowing what wind is coming in at a certain time is possible with many apps, but I like to make sure before loading the car and heading about 50km or 35 minutes away that there is guaranteed wind or I won't go, because you know, if you have to go, you go, but going just for the sake of it is silly.
So far the ones I use🤪🤙

There are many other mobile apps and websites to view predictions, but since I don't use them, I can't give you any more details than what the app itself gives me in its description:
Windfinder : Windfinder is another popular app that offers wind forecasts and weather conditions for thousands of locations around the world. It provides detailed information on wind speed and direction, as well as multi-day forecasts. It also offers interactive maps and additional features like wind alerts and personalized notifications.
iWindSurf : iWindSurf is an app designed specifically for windsurfing, kitesurfing, and other wind-powered water activities. It offers accurate and detailed wind forecasts for a wide variety of locations. It also includes graphs and visual indicators that make wind information easy to interpret.
SailFlow : SailFlow is a popular app for sailors, windsurfers, and kitesurfers. It offers wind and weather forecasts for a wide range of locations around the world. It also provides information on tides, waves, and other data relevant to water activities.
All of them provide data based on forecast models, don't get confused, it's easy to understand and the fewer kilometers the better and more reliable the prediction:
GFS 13KM: The Global Forecast System (GFS) is a global weather forecasting model that analyzes the atmosphere at 13-kilometer intervals. It provides long-range forecasts and is widely used around the world. As the number of kilometers decreases, prediction accuracy is expected to improve.
Wave 16KM : The Wave model, in this case analyzed at 16 kilometers, focuses specifically on forecasting ocean swell and wave conditions. It provides information on wave height, direction, and period, which is important for activities such as surfing, windsurfing, and sailing.
NAM 3KM : The North American Mesoscale (NAM) is a regional mesoscale model that provides high-resolution forecasts for North America. In this model, the atmosphere is analyzed at 3-kilometer intervals. Due to its higher spatial resolution, the NAM 3KM tends to provide more accurate short-range forecasts compared to the GFS.
WRF 9KM and 27KM: The Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF) is a widely used weather forecasting model that can operate at different spatial resolutions. Two resolutions are mentioned here: 9 kilometers and 27 kilometers. The 9KM WRF offers higher resolution and therefore greater detail in forecasts compared to the 27KM WRF.
Zephyr HD 3KM : Zephyr HD is a weather forecasting model developed by Zephyr, a company specializing in weather forecasting and analysis. In this case, the Zephyr HD model is analyzed at 3 kilometers, which means higher spatial resolution and potentially more accurate forecasts for specific locations.
GDPS 15KM : The Global Deterministic Prediction System (GDPS) is a global forecast model developed by Environment and Climate Change Canada. In this case, the GDPS is analyzed at 15 kilometers, which implies a moderate spatial resolution. It provides forecasts for a variety of meteorological variables and is used by the Canadian Meteorological Service.
