The Formula Kite Spain Series returns to Palamós for the third consecutive year

On this occasion the event will also award the title of champion of Spain in the Formula Kite Olympic class.
After the start of the season lived in the bay of Palma last March, the Formula Kite Spain Series land in Catalonia for the celebration of the Go Sailing Shop FKSS 2023 Palamós in collaboration with the Club Nàutic Costa Brava and Vela Palamós and the shelter of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation.
An event that this year becomes a Grand Slam by scoring both for the national kite foil circuit and for crowning the Spanish champion of this new Olympic class.
The Club Nàutic Costa Brava and Vela Palamós will welcome the Go Sailing Shop FKSS 2023 Palamós next Friday, April 14 at Platja Gran, where the more than thirty registered sailors will go out to the regatta field to compete in the second stop of the FKSS circuit .
The great favorites to win the title of Spanish champion are Alejandro Climent, current champion and who has held the last seven national titles, and Bernat Cortés, who will act as host and who is showing excellent form at the start of this season. season.
Bernat Cortés told us: “I am very excited about the next event of the Spanish Championship in Palamós, as part of the Formula Kite Spain Series. As a competitor on the circuit, I am delighted to have had a good start to the season, with a good performance both in the first competition in Mallorca and in the Princesa Sofía Trophy. As a Catalan, I am especially excited to compete in the championship at home. The opportunity to compete in front of my people would be a dream come true. Greece, Chile, Switzerland and the Netherlands are some of the many countries that will be represented at the Go Sailing Shop FKSS 2023 Palamós. After obtaining some very good results in the Gijón and Palamós regattas last year, the Argentine Federico Aguilar, currently at the top of the Argentine kitefoiling, will return to Spain to continue reaping success in the waters of Palamós.
Class A's Youth
For the first time the new A's Youth class will sail in the Formula Kite Spain Series. Ten young people distributed between the Under 15 and Under 17 categories will travel to Palamós to play the second round of the circuit and the Spanish championship.
These young future stars of Formula Kite thus find a space adapted to their needs, having the opportunity to sail in a professional regatta field together with the greatest athletes on the current scene such as the Spanish Alejandro Climent or the Argentine Federico Aguilar.
Carlos Palomares, sports director of the Club Nàutic Costa Brava, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting the FKSS fleet again: "It is the third year that we have participated in the Formula Kite Spain Series circuit and this year, in addition, we have the honor to be the Spanish Championship. The truth is that from the Club we are very happy to be able to host these tests and see the great acceptance among the residents and tourists of Palamós since a lot of people always come to the beach to observe the visual spectacle of the Formula Kite.
