The beaches of Luceni, in the southern spot of La Loteta, are the setting from September 25 to 27 for the eighth edition of the Cierzo Festival, National Open and Aragon Kitesurfing and Windsurfing Championship, with the presence of more than 60 athletes and complying with the strict health protocol.
It has been necessary to wait until the month of September, an unprecedented date for a discipline that in an interior community has a star stage. But the pandemic of coronavirus , which confined the sport in the spring, has not slowed the momentum of the Club Kitesurf La Loteta, which recovers its Cierzo Festival this weekend, "the most important competition in northern Spain", which brings together two twin specialties: kitesurfing and windsurfing. "You have to follow it live and enjoy a show that is difficult to see in this land of ours. We call it rural kitesurfing, but we only need water and wind and we have plenty of the latter," says Jorge Herrero, head of communication for the event.
