At the exciting Flying Sardine FKSS 2023 Castellón event, Qbin Huang took victory in the Open Pro category, demonstrating his skill and prowess in the sport of sailing. Despite the difficult weather conditions that limited sailing during the competition, Huang managed to excel on the first day of testing, achieving impeccable results in all seven races.
In the women's category, talented Frenchwoman Jessie Kampman emerged victorious thanks to her outstanding performance on Gurugú Beach. Although the final days were hampered by a lack of wind, Kampman took advantage of the opportunity on the first day to position herself as the leader and take the victory.
Meanwhile, in the Regional Formula Kite Championship, Alejandro Climent once again demonstrated his supremacy by taking the title for the tenth time. Maintaining his dominance in the discipline, Climent left Jacobo Espí and Kiko Peiró without a chance, who had to settle for second and third place, respectively. Competitors will have to wait until next year to attempt to take the title from the reigning king of Valencian Formula Kite.
Although the event was affected by adverse weather conditions, the athletes demonstrated their passion and dedication to the sport. Despite not being able to compete on all scheduled days, the seven events held on the first day provided an exciting and challenging level of competition.
The Flying Sardine FKSS 2023 Castellón competition featured a strong international presence, with Qbin Huang, Riccardo Pianosi from Italy, and Théo de Ramecourt from France battling for top spots in the Open Pro category. In the women's category, alongside Jessie Kampman, Maya Ashkenazi from Israel and Maddy Anderson from the United Kingdom stood out, completing the podium in second and third place respectively.
The next challenge for Formula Kite athletes will be the national circuit, which will resume competition in the fall with its fourth stop of the year in Tarifa, known as the national wind capital and one of the most famous spots nationally and internationally for kitesurfing.
