Éxito rotundo del primer Clinic Wingfoil organizado por el Club Kitesurf La Loteta.

The first Wingfoil Clinic organized by the La Loteta Kitesurf Club was a resounding success.

✅ I CLINIC WINGFOIL La Loteta! ✅

Today we celebrated the first edition of the Wingfoil Clinic on our spot. A new sport (although it's been around for a few years) that more and more fans are starting to try!

A few members have been able to experience this sport up close, which is taking off on all the beaches.

🙌🏼 Thanks to Alex @sueltalabarra @sueltaelwing for coming up with this Clinic, and for being in some way the “pioneer” of Wingfoil in La Loteta.

And thanks to the @carlitosloteta and @traccionkite_lotetapark schools for giving our members their first taste of Wing.

⭐️ The #wingfoil is, without a doubt, a new challenge... a new "toy" for all wind fans, and it's here to stay.

This is @ck.la.loteta's Instagram post.

Thanks to you Jorge for these words and for being in charge of the Kitesurf Club La Loteta, I remember when I started, nobody was betting on this discipline, and Dani Eito, who controls the Kitefoil like nobody else, decided to try wingfoil and I saw him in La Loteta doing the changes of direction as if it were nothing (a piece of shit who is good at everything he does), there I felt that I had to try it, I bought his wing and began my first steps in February 2021.

The first session, or attempted session, lasted two hours struggling with balance without any external help, instructors, or YouTube videos. As you can see, it was all about drifting and walking with the equipment.

By session number 10 I was able to return to the spot, an achievement that was rare even though just lifting the board and flying was a feat.

And fighting against my own mentality, being as stubborn as a native of Zaragoza after 20 years in Zaragoza, I managed my first upwind runs, my first gybes, and a comfortable tack in session number 30, but not without spending a while struggling between wingfoiling, kitefoiling, and, what the heck, twintips and surfkites, which I really like. These changes of discipline slow down learning, and 15 months passed with only 20 wingfoiling sessions.

Right now in La Loteta we are already more than 10 wingfoilers sailing between kites and supporting this discipline to grow together with the Club Kitesurf La Loteta in its new Wingfoil section. Holding a championship in the last Cierzo Festival 2023 where this new discipline entered, the participation of up to 10 riders was reduced by the lack of wind and only 3 wingfoilers participated, in this first Race-type regatta where no round could be completed, a podium was made to evaluate the performance of the 3 participants, I was among them, and being the only participant from the Aragonese federation, I took third in the open and first in Aragon, this year hoping for greater participation I will have to fight hard with the Loteteros wingfoilers.
