Our beloved José Luis, known as Zé Luiz on Instagram with the profile @jluis123jef, has surprised us with his amazing video where he shares his incredible journey in the world of kitesurfing. Zé Luiz, just 23 years old and originally from the beautiful Macapá Beach, tells us how his kitesurfing adventure began in an unconventional way. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it started with a kite made of sacks! 😮🪁
The Beginnings of a Champion
Zé Luiz enthusiastically tells us: "I made my first kite with bags. I'm here at the end. That's my kitesurfing story." 🌟 With just a tube, jute thread, a needle, and a jute bag, our protagonist created his first kite. He shows us step by step how he put together his creation: from the structure with a tube to the sewing of the bags to give the kite its shape. 🧵✂️
Imagine the excitement of Zé Luiz flying his homemade kite for the first time. This young man wasn't content to just enjoy the flight; he also participated in a local sack kite championship in 2009, on Macapá Beach. And so his kitesurfing journey began! 🥇🏄♂️
My question is, is this being done now, and when? Because it deserves recognition from the kiteboarding community.
Over time, Zé Luiz left the bag kites behind and immersed himself in the world of professional kitesurfing. His achievements were not long in coming:
- 2022: Third in Macapá Bigair 🌟
- 2023: First on BGkite 🥇
- 2023: Second in Macapá Bigair 🥈
