The 2024 Princess Sofia Trophy is underway this week, and the Formula Kite excitement is at its peak. 🏄♂️
This event, which is the starting point for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, brought together more than 1,100 sailors from 75 countries, a true celebration of global sailing!
And amidst all that talent, one name stands out: Adriano Castro Ortiz, the brave Cuban kiteboarder who's challenging the waters in the Formula Kite class.
Adriano, at 18 years old, not only represents Cuba in this competition, but is also a rising star in the world of international kiteboarding. From his first steps in 2019 to his participation in the First Central American and Caribbean Beach and Ocean Games in 2022, he has left a trail of talent and dedication in every wave he rides. 🌊
But what makes the Princess Sofia Trophy so special? In addition to being one of the most prestigious competitions on the calendar, it also serves as a preparation platform for crucial events, such as the 2024 Last Chance Regatta. This tournament, to be held in Hyères, will be the athletes' last chance to secure their place at the Paris Olympic Games.
