The excitement is in the air 🤣💦 I didn't know how to start and suddenly they've canceled again. As we prepare for the Kiteboarding Championship at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, here's a sneak peek with some information. This event will take place in the stunning Marseille Marina, a location known for its ideal sailing and kiteboarding conditions. With competitors from all over the world, but those who have qualified for their country of course, this championship promises to be an unforgettable spectacle. 🏄♂️💨

- Competition Format: The championship will be divided into several phases, starting with the Opening Series , where riders will compete in up to 16 races to achieve the best possible ranking. The top two will advance directly to the Grand Final , while those ranked 3rd through 10th will advance to the Semifinals .
- SEMIFINALS: In the semifinals, competitors will be divided into two groups of equal strength. The goal is to win three races, with the top finishers in each group advancing to the Grand Final.
- FINAL: The Grand Final will be a true spectacle. The Opening Series leader will start with two wins, and the runner-up with one. The goal will be to win three races, meaning the final could last from one to six races. The tension will be at its peak! ⚡
The Marseille Marina: The perfect setting?🌊
The Marseille Marina, located in the south of France, is the ideal location for this championship. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this port offers perfect conditions for sailing and kiteboarding, thanks to its constant winds and a coastal configuration free of currents and tides. Furthermore, the city of Marseille is known for its experience in hosting internationally renowned nautical events.

Sunday, August 4th at 7:00 p.m. the first day ends with 4 RACE and the results:


Monday 5th, 5th RACE results and classification 2:00 p.m.




I wake up in the morning to find the rankings changed. Here they are, waiting for changes this afternoon, August 7th.


And the series ends with the qualification after 4 days of competition for the Final for a medal.


The top two teams qualify directly for the grand final, and the next eight qualify for the semi-finals, with one spot in the grand final.

And after three exciting races this Wednesday, August 8, we now have the finalists for a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games:


And now we have the first podium in kitesurfing, and it's the women's. Great Britain won a gold medal in kitesurfing at the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris 2024, for Eleanor Aldridge . Aldridge was followed by silver medals for Lauriane Nolot of France and bronze for Annelous Lammerts of the Netherlands.

And finally, on the 6th day of kitesurfing and the 14th day of the Olympics, we have the best kiter in the world, at least in the kitefoil (formula kite) RACE modality.

Valentín Bontus @valbontus 🇦🇹 takes the Paris 2024 gold medal in the Kitesurfing category. After a dramatic men's Kitesurfing final that lasted two days, we finally have our winner. In the silver and bronze positions are also winners Toni Vodisek and Max Maeder.

The work the organizers are doing with information on Paris2024 and on social media for Kiteclass and Worldsailing is impressive. The only thing that could be improved is the ability to watch the races on TV and open to the public, so that this sport can grow.
