Maxime Chabloz , the eternal runner-up, finally got a taste of victory! After a seemingly endless run of second-place finishes, the Swiss rider took the cake in Brazil. His perfect Back Mobe 7, rated 10, was the key to his triumph.

For her part, Bruna Kajiya remains unstoppable. The Brazilian has once again demonstrated why she's the queen of women's kitesurfing, winning over her fans and consolidating her leadership on the world circuit. Her victory on home soil was the icing on the cake this season.

And what about the men's semifinals and final? We saw mind-blowing tricks, spectacular falls, and a fierce battle for every hundredth of a second on GKA's YouTube channel. Rita, first, I want to thank you for always listening to me when I contact you. How did you feel competing in Cauipe, especially facing Bruna Kajiya at her home?

It's a mixed bag of feelings because I've been going there for 12 years; it's the place where I learned the most freestyle. It was difficult competing against Bruna, Francesca, and other highly trained riders. It was an unforgettable and enriching experience. I felt a little pressure, but at the same time, a lot of confidence.

Did the competition results meet your expectations?

They exceeded my expectations! I had a fall a month ago and I'm still nursing my knee, but I brought out my winning spirit, the lioness in me.

What have you learned from this experience that you will apply in future competitions?

I've learned to trust myself more, to believe in my abilities, and, above all, to fully enjoy what I love most: this sport and freestyle.

What makes Cauipe such a special place for kitesurfing?

It's special because of its large, super-flat, flat water lagoon, and the trade winds that blow every day, allowing you to plan your workouts with the same intensity, making freestyle a lot easier.

Which trick do you like the most?

I love Heart Attack (Sbend Pass 3). I didn't do it in this competition, though .

How important is equipment for a kitesurfer's performance?

Good equipment, in perfect condition, is essential. A 10-kite, for example, gives you a boost and helps you perform more complex maneuvers.
