Everything you need to know about Kitesurfing Below Zero in Calafate

Get ready for a fun-filled, adrenaline-filled weekend in Calafate! The "Kite Bajo Cero" event is about to take off, well, land, and promises thrills.
I'm happy to share the latest news on my blog about an event you won't want to miss. The famous "Kite Bajo Cero" has announced its activities for this weekend in the beautiful town of Calafate. 🏔️
The championship will take place over three intense days where participants will showcase their skills, falls 😂💦, and spectacular maneuvers under the blue sky contrasting with the white snow as a backdrop. ❄️🪁
Claudia de León, the young Spanish star who was already declared godmother of the Kite Fest and who participated in the past two editions, sent an invitation from her Instagram. Thanks to the efforts of the sponsors, Claudia has been able to attend this start of Kite Bajo Cero, arriving by flight from Spain today, Wednesday.
Here's the full schedule for the meeting, but remember, it's always an estimate...
The complete schedule for the Kite Bajo Cero championship in Calafate is as follows¹:
- Friday, January 12: Event opening, participant registration, kit distribution, and technical talk. 🎉
- Saturday, January 13: Freestyle competition, where kiters will perform jumps and tricks with their kites. 🤸
- Sunday, January 14: Race competition, where kiters will navigate a course marked by buoys. 🏁
- Monday, January 15: Winners' awards ceremony, raffle, and closing of the event. 🏆
In addition, there will be workshops and information sessions throughout the four days on safety, equipment, techniques, and tips to improve your kiteboarding skills. 📚
If you'd like to learn more about the event, you can visit Kite Bajo Cero's Facebook/Instagram page, where you'll find more information and details about the National Lake Argentino Festival. 😊
But it's going to be a great few days! 🌟 The competition will be divided into several categories, allowing kiters of all levels to showcase their talent.
And it's not all about competition; we've also hosted workshops and informational sessions for those interested in improving their skills or learning more about this exciting sport. Experts will be on hand to offer helpful tips and secret tricks to help you take your game (and your kite) to new heights. 🚀
Don't forget to bring your camera because the views will be simply breathtaking. Imagine colorful kites dancing against the majestic natural beauty of Calafate...
I hope this information has been helpful and that you're encouraged to participate or enjoy the show. See you in Calafate! 👋
Thanks to Diego Moreno and Juani Bertrán, members of the Kite Surf group. And to the social media accounts of @kitebajocero for sharing their festival.
