If you're a kiteboarding enthusiast, you'll surely love the adrenaline rush of gliding across the water, propelled by the wind, and performing jumps and flips in the air. But have you ever thought about doing it at night, with the only light coming from the moon and LED lights on your equipment? Well, that's what some brave kitesurfers in Brazil did, in a unique and unforgettable experience. 🤩
On December 27, 2023, coinciding with the full moon, a group of kitesurfers ventured out on the first Moonlight Led Downwind, a nighttime trip of approximately 15 kilometers along the coast of Camocim, in the state of Ceará. The departure was from Farol Beach, in front of the Palhoça Kite Spot, and the destination was Maceió Beach. 🏖️
Participants carried colorful LED lights on their 9m kites (speeds reached 20 knots), boards, and helmets, creating a stunning visual spectacle in the darkness. They also had the support of a boat and a buggy following them on land and sea, in case they needed assistance. But everything went perfectly, and the kitesurfers enjoyed a magical night, surfing under the moonlight and stars. 🌟
The event was organized by the Camocim Online blog, which shared photos and videos on its Instagram account, showcasing the beauty and excitement of this nighttime adventure. Other Instagram users, such as Panelinha Kite Trip, Trapiá Kite School, Trapiá Trip, and Camocim Extreme, also participated, sharing their own images and comments about the Moonlight LED Downwind. 📸
