Hasta siempre, Farinha: Un adiós a un amigo D.E.P.

Farewell, Farinha: Farewell to a friend RIP

It's with a heavy heart that I write this article. This isn't the first tragic news story I've published, but this story may leave a lasting impression on you. The kitesurfing community says goodbye to one of its greatest figures in Rio Grande, Hercules Eduarde "Farinha." At 30 years old, since he was 11, he has left us an indelible legacy in the sport he loved so much.

Junior Farinha, as many of us knew him, was much more than a kitesurfer. He was a free spirit, a tireless fighter, and a loyal friend. His passion for kiting was evident from the very beginning, when he was just 11 years old, already soaring through the skies with his kite, leaving everyone who saw him speechless at his Natal spot in the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

Throughout his career, Farinha became a role model for many kitesurfers. His unique style and contagious energy inspired everyone around him. Despite facing a tough battle with cancer, he never lost his smile or his love for the sea. He raced Sertoes @sertoes.kitesurf through chemotherapy and finished second.

The news of his death has been a hard blow to all of us who knew him. In Barra Grande do Norte, his hometown, and on every beach around the world where he flies a kite, there is a deep sadness. But there is also great gratitude for having had the opportunity to share so many unforgettable moments with him.

Farinha leaves us a legacy that will endure forever. His passion for kitesurfing, his fight against adversity, and his indomitable spirit will be an inspiration to future generations of kitesurfers.

From the Sueltalabarra community, we would like to express our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Farinha will always be in our hearts.
