The epic charity odyssey of "Hoek to the Helder" that raised almost a million euros
Oh my goodness, family, prepare for goosebumps! What happened off the coast of Holland isn't just a downwind experience; it's a life lesson that proves kitesurfing is much more than a sport. It's a powerful tool for changing the world, and the "Hoek to the Helder" event is living proof of that.
SUELTALABARRA Family! In an act of pure epic solidarity, a group of riders dared to conquer a 130km downwind challenge along the Dutch coast. The goal? To raise funds for the Dutch Heart Foundation (@hartstichting) . With a team of riders with hearts as big as their kites, the adventure became a brutal victory for solidarity.
After a year and a half of waiting, the 130km journey was a demonstration of passion and resilience. Rider @sil.gaaff and his team, @bas.bakker and @joost_moens , gave us a true lesson in commitment. Through their hard work, they managed to raise an incredible €5,500 , an achievement worthy of applause. But the most impressive thing of all is that, between all the event participants, they achieved a historic feat: they raised almost €700,000 !
This is the best news we can share. It's a reminder that wind sports have an incredible community, capable of uniting for the most important causes. The riders not only conquered the distance, but they also won hearts.
