"Sunset with Elas": The event that takes women's kitesurfing to the next level
It's so good when an event isn't just a competition, but a celebration of our passion! And that's precisely what "Sunset com Elas" has been, an initiative by the incredible Cauane that has put women's kitesurfing on the map in a spectacular way. We love seeing how our family continues to grow!
SUELTALABARRA Family! This event isn't new; it's been going strong since 2018 and is now in its 15th edition . Its mission is clear: to give women a voice and space in kitesurfing, a fight that has resulted in more women's categories in more competitions and prizes that are just as valuable as those for men. Here's to more events like this!
This edition was held in the paradise of Barrinha , and was a gathering of riders from all over the world. From Brasilia to Paris , and from Buenos Aires to Berlin , the atmosphere was a riot of camaraderie, tricks, and pure energy. The event also had the crucial support of Roman from Barrinha Kite School , a genius who makes everything flow.
The weekend was action-packed. Saturday kicked off with a talk on sustainable entrepreneurship, followed by kite wave, safety, and jump clinics for both beginners and advanced riders. The afternoon kicked off with the "Big Air" competition, where we saw the girls fly so high they almost touched the sky. And to top it all off, the sunset gave us a killer music show.
Sunday was no exception, with a Hatha Yoga class to stretch the muscles and an inspiring talk by Ana Paula Cil . Then, the water was filled with adrenaline with the regattas, where the participants gave their all in their categories.
But the most exciting part was the awards ceremony, which showcased the talent to come in women's kitesurfing.
