The Dakhla Desert was the setting for a memorable day for women's kitesurfing, where Frenchwoman Capucine Delannoy @capucine_delannoy demonstrated her mastery by securing not only the event victory, but also the 2025 GKA Kite-Surf World Championship title. Her flawless performance, marked by precise and powerful technique, cemented her position as the undisputed number one.

With steady winds and clean waves, the second day of competition in Dakhla, Morocco, focused on the women's division. Thirteen athletes battled it out in elimination rounds, with the added pressure of Delannoy securing the title if she won the event. From the early hours of the day, the atmosphere was tense.

Crucial rounds

Capucine Delannoy, Kesiane Rodrigues, Sonja Bunte, and Clémence Derrien stood out in the early rounds, advancing directly to the fifth round. Round four was particularly intense, paving the way for Delannoy's crown when one of her direct rivals, Camille Losserand, was eliminated.

In round five, the competition intensified. Brazilian Kesiane Rodrigues impressed by defeating Charlotte Carpentier, while Serena Luz, also from Brazil, advanced against Sonja Bunte. Meanwhile, Astrid Cheylus defeated Clémence Derrien.

The Duel for the Title

The semifinal between Capucine Delannoy and Johanna-Catharina Edin was the decisive moment. With the championship on the line, Delannoy displayed all her concentration and power, achieving an impressive score of 17.93.
