Meet the SUELTALABARRA community: Spotlight on @BrazilianBrothers
SUELTALABARRA Family! Today we have the pleasure of introducing you to a dynamic duo that embodies a passion for kitesurfing and an ambition to share it: the Brazilian Brothers , formed by Rubens and Arthur , whom you can follow on Instagram as @BrazilianBrothers . Born and raised in Brazil, they currently reside in Florida, USA, bringing the energy of their origins to every session.

Brazilian Brothers: pure passion for big air and megaloops
Rubens and Arthur started their first lessons about 10 years ago, but have been kitesurfing consistently for the past 7. Their style is unmistakable and their passion very clear: they are addicted to Big Air and megaloops . They love to perform big jumps and, ever since they tried kiteloops, they have become obsessed with them. They describe there as nothing better than going out in strong winds and launching a great kiteloop.
They're currently working hard on their kiteloop rotations with board offs . While the pros make it look incredibly easy, they acknowledge that these maneuvers are incredibly technical and difficult to learn, demonstrating their commitment to constant progress.
Their equipment philosophy: Test material.
When it comes to gear, the Brazilian Brothers don't discriminate. They love testing virtually everything available on the market. They especially enjoy trying new kites and comparing them in back-to-back sessions. They're amazed by the number of incredible kites available today and are dedicated to providing honest reviews of the ones they have the opportunity to test. This curiosity and their commitment to the community make them a valuable source of information for other riders.
A memorable experience: "Rubens, the mangrove man"
One of their most memorable and fun experiences, although a bit of a scare at the time, happened when they were just starting out. They found themselves on a local beach with about 25 knots of wind blowing straight toward the shore. At the time, as students, they only had one 11m kite they shared. Despite the kite being too big for those conditions, they decided to inflate it. My brother, Rubens, was lifted by a gust and launched straight into the mangroves. It all happened very quickly, but Arthur remembers seeing his brother about 6 meters in the air, heading straight for the vegetation. Fortunately, the trees cushioned his landing, and he emerged without any broken bones or major injuries. As a result, Rubens earned the nickname "the mangrove man" in his local kite group. They laugh about the ordeal now, but it was a clear wake-up call to always respect Mother Nature. And no video for @sueltalabarra.
Two tips for the community
Their experience has taught them valuable lessons that they share with other riders:
- "Freaking send it—but safely." They advise trying that scary new trick, buying that kite that's slightly out of your budget, or going on that kitesurfing trip you've always dreamed of. "Life is short, might as well enjoy it," they say.
- "Always remind yourself of how lucky we are to have the privilege of practicing this amazing sport." They emphasize that the vast majority of people in the world will never have the opportunity to experience the thrill of flying a kite.
Their mission: to make kitesurfing more accessible
The Brazilian Brothers' mission is clear: to make kitesurfing more accessible to people, regardless of their economic status or where they come from. They recognize that kitesurfing is still a niche sport and love helping people progress on their kiting journey. With this goal in mind, they've been working on launching an incredible project. They invite us to stay tuned, because something "massive" is coming!
It's an honor to have Rubens and Arthur, the Brazilian Brothers, in our SUELTALABARRA community. Their passion, their commitment, their spirit of sharing everything they test, and now with new projects, are a true inspiration.
