The GWA Wingfoil World Cup Tarifa 2025 concludes with historic victories and clear podium finishes

SUELTALABARRA Family! The GWA Wingfoil World Cup Tarifa 2025, held from June 24th to 28th, has come to a close, leaving behind memorable moments and new champions. The event showcased emerging talent and established figures in the exciting world of wingfoiling, with wind conditions that challenged the riders to the max.

Mar de Arce wins his first home victory

The local crowd had a special reason to celebrate: Tarifa-born rider Mar de Arce (@mar_e279) claimed her first GWA Wingfoil World Cup victory. This breakthrough moment on home soil is a testament to her dedication and a significant milestone in her career, cementing her as a force to be reckoned with on the women's circuit. The Tarifa-based world champion highlighted the victory on social media:

I still can't quite believe it. This victory in Tarifa is, without a doubt, one of the most special and toughest I've ever had.

The day before the final, a fever knocked me out, with zero energy (the third photo says it all!). It was a super-demanding competition, not only because of the fever, but also because of the physical discomfort I was experiencing, including my shoulder. I thought it would be impossible, but the support of my family, my partner, and my friends turned everything around. Seeing you all there on the shore, cheering like crazy, gave me incredible strength.

After so many podiums and so many second places... finally, FIRST PLACE in Freestyle! And the fact that it happened here at home, with my people, is what makes it even more magical. This victory is also yours. Thank you so much for every shout, every hug, and for believing in me even when I had doubts.

Keep flying! ✨
