Calling all kitesurfers: Let's Improve Kitesurfing Safety Together.
Dear kitesurfers, We are honored to invite you to be part of a revolutionary initiative that seeks to elevate safety and medical care in our beloved water sport: The Kitesurfstudy , led by German orthopedist, trauma surgeon and sports physician, Dr. Christoph Offerhaus, in collaboration with Surfmedizin eV, a non-profit organization made up of passionate water sports-loving physicians and physiotherapists.
The Kitesurfstudy: A Crucial Initiative for Our Kiteboarding Community. Every sport involves injuries, and each has specific injury patterns. Despite being a rapidly growing sport, kiteboarding lacks scientific studies on its specific injury profiles. However, these profiles are necessary to improve medical care for kitesurfers and develop prevention programs. Through a global survey of kitesurfers of all levels and disciplines, this study is working to close this gap. The study has been approved by the ethics committee and is registered as an official scientific study. The results are intended to be published internationally, making them accessible to all.
How to Participate is Simple and Confidential:
The survey, which is completely confidential and anonymous, has been approved by the ethics committee and will be conducted as an official scientific study. You can access it in five different languages (English, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese) via the following link:

Benefits of your Participation:
By contributing to this research, you'll be helping to gain new insights into kitesurfing, prevent potential future incidents, and make our sport safer. Every response, even if you've never suffered an injury, is valuable.
Join the Initiative:
This study depends on widespread reach, which is why we urge all kitesurfers, from beginners to professionals, to actively participate. Share this information with your fellow kitesurfers and help spread the word about this call to action.
Together, let's make kitesurfing a safer sport and improve healthcare for everyone.
Thank you for being part of this momentous initiative!
