The KiteFest Xunta de Galicia CESANTES Trophy 7th edition

VII KiteFest Xunta de Galicia Trophy: Excitement and Adrenaline in Cesantes.

Last Sunday, Cesantes Beach in Redondela was the perfect setting for the closing ceremony of the 7th Xunta de Galicia KiteFest Trophy. Organized by TMKiteclub and the Redondela City Council, this event brought together a large number of enthusiasts and onlookers who enjoyed three action-packed days of wind. 🌬️🏄‍♂️

Wind and Competition! 🌬️ What more could you ask for? And as they say, in Cesantes, constant wind 😜🤙

At 2:00 PM, the thermal winds began to blow strongly, reaching 18 knots, adding to the excitement on the beach. The Twintip and Surf divisions, which require more wind, were the first to hit the water, completing a total of four races. 🏄‍♀️

With 50 riders registered, the Twintip category was the largest. Alberto López and Antonio Fernández, both from TMKiteClub, finished tied on six points, but López took the victory thanks to his stage wins. Malaga native Rafa Montero completed the podium in third place. 🥇🥈🥉

In the women's category, Patri Suárez of RCN de Vigo took gold, followed by Vera Vázquez and Alejandra Suárez. A great performance from the girls! 💪👩‍🦰

In the Surf division, Javier López was the clear winner, crossing the finish line first in all four events. Francisco Costas and Fonsy Delgado completed the podium in a closely contested competition. 🥇🥈🥉

The Wingfoil class, with less wind (around 10 knots), saw Ignacio Fernández win all three races, taking first place. Miguel Castelao and Platón Kuzmenko completed the podium. 🥇🥈🥉

In Kite Foil, Justo Fernández dominated with six wins in six races, followed by Lucas Muller and Iván M. Fernández. The Big Air competition was also a spectacle for the crowd, with Javier Hernández, Antonio "Patxi" Fernández Beloso, and Alejandro Viñas landing the highest jumps. 🪂

The Freestyle podium was decided with Rafa Montero in first place, followed by Justo Fernández and Alberto López. Friday's Crazy Race was also a success, with David Marín and Alberto López taking the win. 🏅

The trophy presentation at 8:00 p.m. brought the seventh edition of KiteFest to a close, with local officials and sponsors in attendance. An event that will undoubtedly be remembered by all participants and spectators! 🎉
