The Nayarit Wind Festival 2025: Mexico flies high with Tesla energy.

I already told you in my talk about sports tourism in Juan de Acosta: the Nayarit Wind Festival is one of those events that sets the tone in Latin America, and 2025 has been no exception. I've been waiting to get more information about the festival; here's what I can offer you two weeks later.
Nayarit has it all: A dream setting for Kite and Wing
The Nayarit State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism and in collaboration with Sabino MX Productions, has once again pulled out all the stops to host this high-impact event. The promise is clear: "Nayarit has it all," and it certainly delivers. The iconic Banderas Bay, with its breathtaking landscapes and constant winds, becomes the epicenter of the action.
This festival isn't just a competition; it's a transformative experience that invites participants and spectators to connect deeply with Nayarit's lush nature, immerse themselves in its rich culture, and enjoy the warmth of its people. And I, having seen how kitesurfing can transform realities in places like Fuerteventura and Dakhla, can only applaud this initiative.
From May 16-18, 2025 , 400 kiteboarders from more than 10 countries gathered in Bucerías and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle! Yes, you read that right, 400. This already makes it the largest kiteboarding event in the Americas by number of participants. Imagine the sky filled with multicolored kites!
The Wind Festival is a true paradise for lovers of speed, skill, and technique, offering competitions in various disciplines:
- Freestyle: Where creativity and technique defy gravity. Pure tricks and jaw-dropping jumps!
- Downwind: A test of endurance and strategy along the coast, from La Cruz de Huanacaxtle to Bucerías.
- Slalom: A race of pure speed between buoys. Turning speed is everything!
- Big Air: This is my thing! I mean, I'm going to see it ;-) Jumps that touch the clouds and leave anyone with their mouths open.
- Foil Racing: The cutting edge of the sport, where boards seem to levitate over the water. Equal parts elegance and speed, with a flow that only a few can master!
Furthermore, the event is inclusive, with Downwind categories for Twintip, Kitefoil, Wingfoil, and Windsurf, for both men and women, and covering a wide age range. This demonstrates that there's room for everyone, from the youngest to the most experienced.
