Between June 1 and 4, Lake Garda, Italy, hosted an exciting event: the Garda Championship. This tournament, part of the WingFoil Racing World Cup Series, attracted elite athletes from around the world to one of the most iconic sailing destinations. Although conditions were less than ideal, the competitors demonstrated their skill and determination in every race.

The event brought together 77 competitors from 20 different countries, including athletes from Venezuela, Thailand, and New Zealand. With 58 men and 19 women, the competition was fierce and packed with international talent. Despite the difficulties caused by the lack of wind, the athletes gave their all to put on an unforgettable performance.

In the men's category, 20-year-old Frenchman Mathis Ghio once again demonstrated his supremacy by remaining at the top of the rankings. This victory marks his third win in a WingFoil Racing World Cup Series event this year, cementing his position as one of the top competitors in the discipline. Meanwhile, in the women's category, Italian Maddalena Spanu surprised everyone by defeating the favorite and current ranking leader, Paula Novotna. Although Novotna remains in the lead, Spanu demonstrated her skill and determination by achieving an impressive victory.

Despite the challenging natural elements, the Garda Championship on the WingFoil Racing World Cup Series circuit was an event filled with excitement and top-level competition. The final day of the Garda Championships was full of excitement. Although the wind was quiet, it didn't stop Mathis Ghio and Maddalena Spanu from becoming the Garda wingfoil champions. Key decisions were also made regarding the qualification spots for the @anocworldbeachgames World Beach Games in Bali.

Despite expectations, the wind didn't blow on the final day of the Garda Championships. Although this was disappointing for the competitors and organizers, it didn't dampen the spirit of the champions or the effort they had put into the event.

Maddalena Spanu made history by winning her first World Cup in the women's wingfoil category. Her flawless performance and outstanding skill allowed her to reach the top of the podium and secure a prominent place in the history of the sport.

Mathis Ghio, meanwhile, continued his winning streak on the circuit, cementing his position as one of the world's best wingfoilists. As the reigning world champion, Ghio once again demonstrated his dominance in the sport and his ability to rise to any challenge.

In addition to individual victories, the Garda Championships also played a decisive role in determining the qualification spots for the World Beach Games.
