Historic achievement in Tarifa: Lorenzo Casati completes the world's first Triple Loop!

The world's first Triple Loop! 🌪️🌪️🌪️ achieved by @lorenzo.casati05 at Balneario TARIFA 🇪🇦

Excitement and amazement swept through the Spanish seaside resort of Tarifa this Friday when international Cabrinha and Dakine rider Lorenzo Casati landed the world's first Triple Loop! Considered an extremely challenging and risky trick, Casati masterfully executed it in strong wind conditions of approximately 35 knots using his 8-meter Cabrinha Drifter kite.

Lorenzo Casati for the SKL held in Tarifa this weekend, after getting it he said: Hello, I'm Lorenzo Casati, Cabrihna Rider and Dakine international, yesterday I got the first Triple loop in the world, in Balneario the wind was super strong (35knts) and with my 5m Drifter I gave it a Triple Loop, first in the world and I'm too happy, I've been thinking about this trick for a long time in my life, I always had it in mind for the last month and I said I want to do it, I want to do it, and yesterday finally the conditions were right and I got it, on the second, second try, I said no, I have to do it, I did it, I continued, I reached a small wave, jumped and Triple Loop.

Casati's incredible achievement has left everyone in the kitesurfing community speechless. Who hasn't already received it on WhatsApp or Telegram? This trick, which involves performing three complete turns in the air while performing a jump, requires a high level of skill, control, and courage. Casati has proven to be a true pioneer in the world of kitesurfing by taking this trick from possible to actually possible. We'll soon see it scored, and the judges will determine the score.

The Spain Kiteboarding League team had the honor of interviewing Lorenzo Casati at the Liam Whaley Pro Center after his historic feat. I'm writing this short article about this interview, along with a video of the incredible jump. It was recorded and posted on social media by camerawoman Rosa Bretón Luis on her Instagram @rosabretonluis56.

The official competition will continue tomorrow, as the Tarifa resort town hosts the 2023 GKA Youth World Championships, where young talents from around the world will compete in the Freestyle and Strapless disciplines. And I'll give you the results, as always, on this blog and in the KITELETTER you receive every Monday in your email. If you haven't received it yet, sign up now.

In addition to Casati's achievement, another prominent rider, Carlos Aldaravi, has also traveled to Tarifa to participate in an exhibition and seek to break his own record for time spent in the air. Aldaravi, who previously achieved over a minute in the air with a 7-meter Duotone kite, will attempt to surpass this mark using an 8-meter kite. Aldaravi expressed his gratitude to his sponsor, Duotone, and to Peluka for inviting him and organizing the Spain Kiteboarding League.

The resort of Tarifa has become an epicenter for water sports and kitesurfing, attracting riders and enthusiasts from around the world due to its impressive wind and wave conditions. Lorenzo Casati's feat is a testament to the spirit of innovation and challenge that drives these athletes to push boundaries and explore new possibilities in kitesurfing.

Keep up with the exciting events and achievements of the Spain Kiteboarding League as riders continue to make their mark in Tarifa, kitesurfing paradise!
