GWA Wing Foil World Junior Championships Costa Brava 2025

SUELTALABARRA Family! Last weekend, from June 30th to July 6th, 2025, the Costa Brava coast was the scene of one of the most important events on the international youth Wing Foil calendar. The La Ballena Alegre Sailing Club , located at the Camping Bungalow Resort & Spa La Ballena Alegre (Sant Pere Pescador), hosted the GWA Wing Foil Costa Brava 2025 Youth World Championship , a meeting that brought together the best young talents of this emerging discipline.

The choice of Sant Pere Pescador as the venue for the 2025 GWA Wing Foil Costa Brava Junior World Championship was no coincidence. This town, and in particular the La Ballena Alegre Sailing Club, is renowned for being a strategic location for dinghy sailing and, especially, wind sports. Its wind conditions make it a prime spot, ideal for hosting high-level competitions and for both professionals and enthusiasts to fully enjoy disciplines such as wing foiling.

An internationally renowned event

Organized by the Global Wingfoil Association (GWA) , this championship attracted the attention of the nautical world, consolidating the Costa Brava as a strategic location for dinghy sailing and wind sports. The event was part of the international junior circuit and served as a qualifying event for future high-level competitions.

During the week of competition, a global field of 13 nations converged on the Costa Brava for these GWA Junior World Championships. Countries such as France, Italy, Brazil, Germany, Austria, the United States, Spain, Great Britain, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Qatar were represented, showcasing the diversity and global reach of youth sport. The level of competition was exceptional, although windy conditions forced the organizers to release the FreeFly-Slalom athletes, as well as the U-19 Surf-Freestyle boys and girls, at certain times.
