What an amazing event we've had! The 2025 Formula Wing Worlds has arrived to write a new chapter in wingfoil history, and it did so in a dream setting: the spectacular waters of Cagliari, Sardinia. This wasn't just any championship, but the first edition of a world championship in this discipline, and it left us with our hearts in our mouths until the very last moment.

SUELTALABARRA Family! If wingfoiling already had us crazy for its speed and its flights over the water, what happened in this championship exceeded all expectations. We witnessed an epic battle of tactics and skills, with winds that kept changing. At first, the calm Mediterranean put the riders to the test, making every pump of the board a fight to stay on the foil. But in the end, the wind gave us a heart-stopping finale that had everything.

With 93 competitors from 22 countries, the excitement was palpable. The men's final was absolutely wild, with Mathis Ghio and Francesco Cappuzzo tied on points heading into the final leg. The tension was high, and Ghio was crowned champion in a dramatic finish, while Cappuzzo, despite an incredible performance, took silver after a penalty for touching a buoy.

But if there's one story that touched our hearts, it was that of the women's champion. 18-year-old Italian Maddalena Spanu , a native of Sardinia, proved that experience isn't everything when talent and strategy are involved. Despite a tricky start, Maddalena took a risk, went down the left side of the race, and, in a brilliant move, snatched victory from her rivals. A gold medal that tastes like glory and stays at home!

A round of applause for all the competitors, who gave us an unforgettable show. Even riders from other sports, like Olympic windsurfing medalist Grae Morris , dared to try the sport, proving that wingfoiling is the future.
