Paje Beach, Zanzibar: A Happy Ending to the Kitesurfing Championship
SUELTALABARRA Family! The idyllic shores of Paje Beach, Zanzibar, were recently the setting for a vibrant kitesurfing championship, an event that not only tested the riders ' skills under the African sun but also left us with a story of perseverance and personal triumph. This destination, known for its steady winds and idyllic waters, reaffirms itself as a place where the passion for wind sports comes alive.
Seif Waliddd's experience: from adversity to the podium
One of the protagonists of this championship was seifwaliddd (@seifwaliddd), a rider whose experience in Zanzibar turned into a true roller coaster of emotions. After a difficult start, which included a burglary at his home and the consideration of leaving the island, Seif managed to recover his belongings after three days of uncertainty. It's important to note that none of his kitesurfing equipment was stolen , but the incident was undoubtedly a huge scare that almost made him give up. What seemed like a bitter end turned into an incredible personal victory.
Just one day after retrieving his belongings, Seif stepped onto the podium for the first time in his life, earning a well-deserved third place in a Big Air competition. Despite the wind conditions "not being really strong," Seif thoroughly enjoyed the podium experience. He expressed his gratitude to the beach attendants, the judges, the hotel staff, and, of course, the crowd, who created an unforgettable atmosphere. A story that reminds us that, even in the face of challenges, resilience can lead to moments of great success.
Competitions at Paje Beach: Big Air , Freestyle and Race
The event at Paje Beach featured a variety of disciplines, showcasing the versatility of the riders and the perfect lagoon conditions. Seif commented on the high level of local riders given the area's wind conditions, noting that "the level here is quite good for the wind conditions they're experiencing," setting it apart from other famous spots like Egypt, Spain, or Cape Town.

Paje Beach: Beyond the Competition
Hassan Abu Kite (@hassan.abu.kite), another rider who shared his experience, described Paje Beach and the Summer Beach Kiteschool as the coolest place to learn kitesurfing. He highlighted the azure waters, beach bars for enjoying the views, lively parties, sunny weather almost year-round, good Hakuna Matata vibes, and professional yet cool instructors. The competitions, he said, are simply "the icing on the cake."
Seif Waliddd (@seifwaliddd) will continue to teach lessons at Paje by Kite Wanna Kite until September 20th, offering an excellent opportunity for those looking to learn or improve with the support of experienced riders.
