GWA Youth Wingfoil World Championships La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain
This Friday, the SWL Spain Wingfoil Tour, part of the GWA, passed through La Palma in the Canary Islands. The island of Santa Cruz de La Palma left very positive impressions, with the two days being completed successfully. On the first day of competition, the GWA Championship for the most promising young riders in the discipline took place. Wind conditions were quite challenging, fluctuating constantly between ups and downs, forcing us to cancel several slalom races.
Despite these difficulties, we ultimately managed to complete four races per age group. We had participants in the U-14, U-16, and U-19 categories, both male and female. It was a true spectacle to see these talented young people demonstrating their skill and determination in the waters of the beautiful island of La Palma, in the Canary Islands.
For the second day of competition, the weather forecast called for conditions similar to those on Saturday, perhaps even slightly better. We were able to complete all the remaining freestyle events.
