The recent theft of Formula Kite equipment valued at €450,000 during the European Championship in Murcia has left us all with our hearts in our mouths. 😱 I can't even imagine the riders' feelings when they found out while going to retrieve their equipment. But, good news! The Spanish Civil Guard acted with the speed of a kiter in the middle of a competition 🤣💦 and recovered everything in less than 24 hours. 👮‍♂️👏

This incident reminds us of the importance of taking steps to protect our equipment. Here are some tips:

- Surveillance : Whenever possible, leave your equipment under the supervision of someone you trust or event security (something I'm sure will be hired from now on).

- Discretion : Avoid drawing attention to your equipment, especially in public places or when transporting it in your vehicle. It is normal in areas where kiteboarding is commonly practiced that there are strangers watching you when you get into the water.

- Innovation : There are tracking devices that you can add to your equipment to locate it in case of theft. I recommend having all the material labeled and marked, of course with SURFLABEL .
