Formula Kite's top athletes are intensively preparing for the European Championships, which will be held in Urla, Turkey, from May 11-19, 2025. This event marks the first major senior title of the new Olympic cycle, and significant rule changes are anticipated, as well as the emergence of new talent.
TYF Formula Kite Sailing League Star Cup Round 3 (Türkiye): Highlights
Prior to the European Championship, the third leg of the TYF Formula Kite Sailing League Stars Cup took place, with several of the European title contenders taking part. The most notable results were:

Both Deury Corniel and Alejandro Climent Hernandez expressed their pride in representing their countries and described this competition as good training for the European Championship.
In the women's category, and although I didn't find the necessary information to report, I'll post the qualifying photo hoping someone will comment or know the winners. It's incredible they weren't named in the same text and Instagram post as the men's fleet. Congratulations, champions!

2025 Formula Kite European Championship (Urla, Türkiye): Expectations

The European Championship is generating great excitement, especially due to the absence of legendary figures like Daniela Moroz and Ellie Aldridge, which opens the door to a new generation of talent. The reduction in kite size for women is also expected to influence the dynamics of the competition.
Favorites in the Women's Category:
Reigning world and European champion, as well as Olympic medalist Lauriane Nolot (France), is tipped to be the main contender. However, she expects strong competition from athletes such as Catalina Turienzo (Argentina), Breiana Whitehead (Australia), Julia Damasiewicz (Poland), Mafalda Pires de Lima (Portugal), and Spaniard Gisela Pulido Borrel, as well as young Britons Ella Geiger and Lily Young.

Italian Riccardo Pianosi arrives with a strong track record and a European victory in 2023. His main rivals are Frenchman Axel Mazella and Singaporean Maximilian Maeder.
