Patxi revalidates his title of Galician kitesurfing champion in Cesantes!
Back in action at San Simón Cove!
The TMKiteClub Cesantes has put the finishing touches to the Galician Kitesurfing Championship - Grupo Visier Trophy, an event marked by variable wind conditions, but which did not prevent the weekend from being full of excitement and spectacle.
Justo Fernández, unstoppable in Kite Foil: The Club Windsurf Galicia rider has once again demonstrated his dominance in the Kite Foil modality, scoring five convincing partial victories and thus revalidating his title of Galician champion. With a total of four points after the bye, Fernández has surpassed Iván Manuel Fernández of TMKiteClub (second place) and Ignacio Vicente, also of TMKiteClub, who completed the podium in third place.
A luxury women's podium: In the women's Twintip category, Vigo-born Patricia Suárez of RCN Vigo shined brightly, taking victory in the only race contested and finishing second overall. She was followed on the podium by María del Carmen Nieto of TMKiteClub (second) and Alejandra Suárez of Monte Real Club de Yates (third).
"Patxi" Fernández triumphs in Twintip: In the men's Twintip category, Antonio "Patxi" Fernández took the cake, beating Francisco Naranjo and Serafín Míguez, who completed the podium in second and third place, respectively.
Justo Fernández, double champion in Cesantes: In addition to his victory in Kite Foil, Justo Fernández also won the Grupo Visier Trophy in the Surf category. He was joined on the podium by José Ríos of TMKiteClub (second) and Roberto González of Papaventos Kite Club (third).
A well-deserved tribute: The trophy ceremony, which took place at the facilities of the organizing club, served as the final touch to a vibrant championship. Several figures from the Galician sports world were present, including Tato González (president of the organizing club), Álvaro Visier (representing the Visier Group), Antonio Cabaleiro (Redondela City Councilor), and Manuel Villaverde (president of the Royal Galician Sailing Federation).
