The Last Chance Regatta:
From April 20-27, Hyères, France, will host the Last Chance Regatta, the final qualifying event for kiteboarding at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In this regatta, riders who have yet to secure an Olympic spot will have one last chance to fight for a spot on their national team.
The places at stake:
In Hyères, five places per gender will be awarded in Formula Kite. These places will be allocated to the top five riders who have not qualified in previous events.
The protagonists:
Among the riders who have qualified for Paris 2024 are some of the best in the world, such as Connor Bainbridge (Great Britain🇬🇧), Maks Zakowski (Poland🇵🇱), Dor Zarka (Israel🇮🇱), Elena Lengwiler (Switzerland🇨🇭) and Mafalda Pires de Lima (Portugal🇵🇹).
Spain 🇪🇦 will be represented by Gisela Pulido in the Women's Formula Kite. The men's team will have to wait until the next Olympics. Bernard missed out on the top 10 and missed out on the Medals Series by 4 points, while Alejandro Climent, in 15th place, had no chance of qualifying.
